All over the world, cancer represents a major issue for public health, being the second cause of death, after cardiovascular diseases.

Even if, the cancer represents on omnious diagnosis for many of us, equal with death, we have to know that there are many available treatments which can assure the cure of cancer. The main condition to obtain this is to detect, recognize and treat the disease in the earlier stages.

In advanced stages the treatment can prolonge the survival and eventually to offer a better quality of life.

In Romania due to ignorance, fear, lack of sanitary education and the presence of an increasing number of illusion-feeders that have a strong impact on media, presentation to physician is done in advanced stages when the treatment is very expensive, agresive and involves o lot of suffering for the patient and his family.

It’s time to change something! Because every life is important we have to change the individual’s mentality, the health policy and our attitude versus the disease and those who are suffering from it.

According to these things Romanian Cancer League launches the following programs:

COUNT ON US!

Patients diagnosed with cancer require a number of services during the evolution of their disease.

Like a consequence of the disease, the treatment and rehabilitation, the patients may require concrete services such as hospitalization care, medical assistance at home, medical equipment, financial support, transportation, information and counseling.

These needs occur as a result of medical assistance system’s requests, bureaucracy, financial limits and due to emotional problems experienced by patients and their families during the course of the disease. If these necessities cannot be accomplished, the patients are not able to face the intensive therapeutic regimens and show a lower moral, failing to return to a normal activity and lifestyle after an acute episode of disease

The program is addressed to these patients and it seeks to form support group for patients and theirs families.
