Alert About Fraudulent Solicitations

Several fraudulent solicitations claiming to be from or associated with the Romanian Cancer League are circulating the internet in various languages. Some of these scams include:
- Emails from an individual or individuals misrepresenting themselves as agents of a “Romanian Cancer League – Lottery” and promising award money to recipient.
- Emails from an individual or individuals, including emails from romaniancancerleague@yahoo.com or romaniancancerleague@gmail.com, attempting to solicit donations for Japanese earthquake and tsunami relief on behalf of the Romanian Cancer League.
- Emails from an individual or individuals, including someone identifying herself as person “Mrs. Henry Smith”, inviting attendees to the “International NGO’s workshop on Cancer and Life Style.”
- Emails from an individual or individuals, including someone identifying herself as “Mrs. Elise Smith”, inviting attendees to the “18th International Conference on Development & Financing.”
- Emails from an individual or individuals, including someone identifying herself as “Johnson Jennifer,” inviting attendees to the “17th Roundtable of NGO/CBO” in Little Rock, Arkansas.
- Emails from an individual or individuals misrepresenting themselves as agents of the Romanian Cancer League regarding an OMS conference on topics including Cancer, Life Style, and San Marino.
- Emails from an individual or individuals misrepresenting themselves as agents of the Fidelity UK Foundation promoting a conference and claiming Mr. Rogoveanu Sebastian will be speaking at the event.
- Emails from an individual or individuals, including someone identifying himself as “Ron McDonald,” misrepresenting themselves as agents of the Romanian Cancer League who are hiring representatives to receive donations and perform other tasks on behalf of the Romanian Cancer League and other charities.
Please be advised, all such solicitations are fraudulent and in no way connected or affiliated with the work of the Romanian Cancer League. We are taking steps to address these matters. Positions with the Romanian Cancer League and information about Romanian Cancer League events are posted exclusively on our website.
